Common questions
Straight answers before you buy.
What happens during a free assessment?
We walk the property with you, talk through the risks you care about, look at existing equipment, and recommend a practical system—not a one-size-fits-all package. There is no obligation to buy.
Do I need professional monitoring?
A local siren and phone notification help, but they only work if someone is available to respond. 24/7/365 monitoring adds trained personnel who follow the response instructions set up for your account, including intrusion, fire, carbon monoxide, and environmental alerts.
Can you use cameras or alarm equipment I already have?
Often, yes. JonesTech evaluates compatible existing equipment and will recommend reuse, a targeted upgrade, or a clean replacement when the old hardware cannot do the job reliably.
What is the difference between DVR and NVR?
DVR systems typically use coax cameras and can be cost-effective for upgrades. NVR systems use network cameras with more flexible placement, higher-resolution options, and easier expansion. We recommend based on the building, cabling, and the coverage you need.
Where do you install?
JonesTech is locally owned and serves Olive Hill, Morehead, Grayson, and Eastern Kentucky.
Will I be able to arm, disarm, and view cameras from my phone?
Yes. Compatible systems include mobile arming and disarming, live camera view, motion alerts, and event history from one connected experience.
